Yesterday if you check the Twitter you will be seeing the trend #MIvsGL trending for hours. It was the first Match in IPL 2017 that turned out to be a Super Over match. Mumbais brilliant innings brought them to 154 but Gujarat Lions fielding stopped them to halt to tie . It was a must win for Gujarat Lions as they wanted to make their way to play off so winning this game will certainly increase their chances. So getting back to Super over it was a good decision for Jos Butler and Kieron Pollard to open. With a four and a six Pollard made a good impact but the shot on the 4 ball didn’t had much power in which he was caught near the Boundary following Jos Butler mistiming the slower ball getting caught by Ishan Kishan. James Faulkner bowled well with slower deliveries.
But in Gujarat the opening was done Mcullum and Aaron Finch the two right hand batsman. Bumrah with pressure bowled a no ball with wide gave extras but the bowling he did was Superb, with Both batsman struggling to touch the ball, most of the bowl were dots that were missed affecting their score and losing the one over Eliminator. Suresh Raina should have open the innings as it always be difficult for bower to bowl for left handers, but seems like it was a bad decision. They should try to win all matches from now on…
