If you ever visit plan to visit some best places in Dubai , I’ll recommend you to visit Hatta. Hatta’s main economic factor is tourism and water. Historically the area was able to grow date palms; the fruits were used as a food source, while the tree was used for building material. It has a popular heritage village, including a collection of reconstructed traditional mountain dwellings and is popular for weekend getaways with both people camping in the winter months or staying at the Hatta Fort Hotel.

I visited this place with my team of 15 colleagues and I had the best experience there. Our journey started by picking up my colleagues from different locations around 8.00am. Then we left for Hatta around 9:30 am from Dubai Investment Park 2. It takes around 1 hours and 40 minutes reach at the spot. We carried with us with breakfast mid way so that we don’t get hungry while exploring the beauty of the place.

When we reached there, I noticed tall mountains of rocks which made me thinks that its impossible to climbs. The mountains were perfectly in shape like a triangle ike how I used to draw in school. But, the view was beautiful. At the dam, we got to see the crystal green lake between the mountain range. The bridge was filled with tourists. The place was silent, cool and relaxing.

I never did Kayaking before. This time I decided to try Kayaking ! The Hatta Kayak is a unique tourist destination in Dubai and UAE. The vast lake formed by Hatta Dam and its surrounding mountains is becoming so popular among those who seeks relaxation in a natural place and looks for a new experience of practicing kayak sport in UAE. There were around 100 Kayaks and boats readily available. We 15 persons decided to get into single Kayak each.

The water was calm and the lake was peaceful. We wore life jackets for the safety incase the Kayak flips. You need to maintain correct sitting position and make sure not to tilt on one side. The movement of the row will guide you the course and movement of the Kayak. But it was fun, Once you get hands on it, you ll seamlessly cruise it. That was the best moment in my life.

After exploring the dam and the Kayaking. We sat on a carpet making a rectangle and they served us with the dish name Mandi. The Mandi is served with a big plate of rice mixed with gravy and two half chicken pieces. One fried with different spices and other boiled. A group Of four people ate in one big plate.
We then visited the Hatta Park which is 20 mins drive from the restaurant. Hatta Hill Park is an elevated oasis in Dubai’s exclave town of Hatta. Just a short drive from the region’s heritage village. The green space also includes running tracks, sports fields and a children’s playing field. We played football on the turf which was fenced and explored the view from top of the hill. By exploring these, places our day came to an end and we decided to head back to Jumeira Beach in Dubai.
About my experience, I would recommend you to visit this place one as you ll get to explore the place without tall skyscrapers and digital entertainment like in city. The best time to visit this place is between October – February. As the temperature is cool. While kayaking make sure you put your mobile phones in floated plastic bag so that if you fall inside the lake then you mobile can be safe from drowning. There is a very less chance that you ll get it back as the lake is almost 35 feet deep.
I hope you like this blog and one day you ll explore this place. Also check out my other blog – Albert Travels
