It’s getting bigger and bigger: Justin Bieber will have 1,500 guards during his concert
Under plans drawn up by Navi Mumbai police commissioner Hemant Nagrale, about 525 police personnel including 25 officers will be deployed for security, emergency response and disaster management at the stadium on Wednesday.
About 1,500 security personnel including 500 policemen will provide security cover to singer Justin Bieber, who will perform at the DY Patil Stadium at Nerul in Navi Mumbai on Wednesday.
According to a source, the remaining 1,000 personnel will comprise private security guards from London and Dubai and also include guards provided by actor Salman Khan’s bodyguard, Shera.
The police have beefed up security for Bieber’s visit and are checking all vehicles entering and leaving the city. The singer will stay in south Mumbai, but details of his stay and travel arrangements have been kept secret for security reasons.
About 45,000 people are expected to attend Wednesday’s concert, Bieber’s first in India, and the police, both in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai – are facing challenges on many fronts, including security, emergency response, disaster management and traffic regulation.
